In April 2006, NGEO “Yav” members and Edinstvo ecovillage inhabitants began construction of community house. House is building by project of “Yav” member who had built his own cob house 11 years ago.
His construction technology allow build winter house without stone basement using wood supporting poles and clay waterproof finish.
So it's becoming possible to make this house significantly cheaper than usually construction costs.
Octagonal house has gross area about 100 sq. m. include 50 sq. m basement and 50 sq. m floor.
We began dig foundation ditch in 16-th of April 2006. In 1-th of July, digging was finished and we began installing bearers and making cob. Now we have made cob walls and floor boarding joists. We publish in our site news and photos of Common House construction.
House is intended for ecovillage inhabitants who have not own houses now, and for our guests. We will meet each other there in the evenings and holidays.
We invite all who want to learn our technology of cheap house building. Practical training is free of cost. It is enough to take part in our community work.
